"Essential Aftercare Tips for Your Lash Lift and Tint"

Updated: May 9

Proper aftercare is crucial for maintaining your lash lift. In this guide, we will cover essential tips to keep your lashes looking great, including what to do in the first 48 hours and how to care for them in the long term.

FIRST 24H

After a lash lift and tint:

  •  Keep your lashes dry (do not get them wet or expose them to steam, moisture)

📢 do not

  •  Apply makeup (especially mascara, be careful with eyeshadow too) on your lashes

  •  Sleep directly faced into the pillow  (you might affect the curl and push them down)

  •  Using any kind of lash serum or products that contains oil (following the guide keep them dry*)

AFTER 24H

1. Resume Normal Activities:

After 24 hours, you can generally resume normal activities like washing your face and wearing makeup.

2. Use a Gentle Cleanser:

When washing your face, avoid rubbing or tugging at your lashes, and instead gently dab or pat the area around your eyes.

3. Brush Your Lashes:

Use a clean spoolie/lash brush to gently separate and keep your lashes looking neat. This helps prevent tangling and maintains their shape.

4. Swimming pool:

Chlorine is not good for the lasting effects of your lash tint (protect lashes by wearing goggles or make sure you rinse your lashes with water after getting out of the swimming pool)

5. Sleep on Your Back or Side: To avoid pressure on your lashes, try to sleep on your back or side. This helps maintain the curl and shape of your lash lift. Sleep mask can help keeping your lashes in place.

AFTERCARE

To nourish and maintain a lash lift, using appropriate products is key to keeping your lashes healthy and ensuring the lift lasts. Here are some nourishing tips and recommended products:

  • Conditioning Oils: Lightweight oils, like argan oil or castor oil, can be used sparingly to nourish your lashes. These oils help to condition and strengthen lashes, promoting growth and preventing breakage. Apply with a clean spoolie or cotton swab to avoid clumping.

  • Lash Masks: Some lash masks contain hydrating and conditioning ingredients to support lash health. These masks can be used weekly to give your lashes a boost of moisture. Some of the lash mask brands are RevitaLash, RapidLash, L'Oréal Paris.

  • Avoid Oil-Based Products: Although conditioning oils are beneficial, avoid oil-based makeup or skincare products around your eyes, as they can weaken the lash lift over time.

The reason to avoid oil-based products around your lash lift is that oils can break down the adhesive used in the lash lift process, causing the curl to weaken or the lashes to lose their shape. This is why it is generally recommended to use oil-free makeup and skincare products on or around your eyes after a lash lift.

However, when it comes to conditioning your lashes, certain oils like castor oil are applied differently and usually in smaller quantities, focusing on the lashes themselves rather than the lash base or root area where the adhesive is applied. Castor oil, when used sparingly and applied carefully, can help nourish and strengthen the lashes without interfering with the lash lift adhesive. It’s typically used as a lash conditioner rather than a remover.

To use castor oil without affecting the lash lift:

(you get oil in your aftercare bag)

  • Apply it sparingly with a mascara brush, focusing on the tips and lengths of the lashes, avoiding the base or root area.

  • Use it at night, and cleanse thoroughly in the morning with an oil-free cleanser to remove any residue.

These precautions help ensure that the oil does not weaken the lash lift's adhesive while allowing you to condition and nourish your lashes.
