Aftercare: Lash extensions guide

Updated: May 9

Learn the best practices for aftercare to keep your eyelash extensions looking flawless. From daily maintenance to routine touch-ups, these expert tips will help you maintain the fullness and longevity of your lash extensions.

Remember you will lose 2-5 lashes a day naturally, but these steps will help you keep the retention longer.

GUIDELINE

Here are simple steps that will help you maintain your eyelash extensions longer!

  • STEP ONE

Avoid getting them wet for up to 48 hours after application.

Why is this important? Because the glue needs to dry and wrap your lashes properly. So if you do not follow this step your lashes will slide off.

  • STEP TWO

Do not use oil based products around or on the eyes.

Why is this important? If you use oily products around your eyes and on your lashes that will start breaking the glue and cause your lashes sliding off or starting to slowly lift from where they were placed.

  • STEP 3

Clean your eyelashes with foam cleanser.

Why is this important? As you would wash your hair that is why it is important to wash your lashes. By using daily products around your eyes as makeup and creams they get stuck in your lash line. That can affect the lash retention and create itchiness. I recommend cleaning lash extensions before sleep to remove the day's facial oils, dust, dirt and makeup.

  • STEP 4

Do not rub or pick on your lashes.

Why is this important? Simple because you will pull out the lashes that were not ready to fall out yet. If anything is irritating your eyelashes use the brush and brush them out.

  • STEP 5

Brush through your eyelashes.

Why is this important? Take care of your eyelash extensions, brush your lashes daily to prevent crisscrossing. A simple 10 second sweep through your lashes in the morning will put lashes in their place.

  • STEP 6

Silk sleep mask will help you get the benefits of protection and comfort without compromising your lash extensions.

Why is this important? Silk is smooth and has less friction compared to other fabrics. This reduces the risk of your lash extensions getting caught or pulled, which can lead to breakage or premature shedding. If you do not like sleep mask you can alternately have a silk pillow case.
